we believe that authenticity and roots are of paramount importance. The word ‘Authentic’ originates from an ancient Greek term signifying ‘genuine’ or ‘authentic’. ‘Authentes’ is a combination of the words ‘autos’ (self) and ‘hentes’ (doer), representing the authentic and true doer within oneself. A linguist and etymologist delves into the very origins of words to uncover their authenticity and profound meaning.
ABOUT US
“I’ve always believed that human beings are defined by their emotions. It’s often these very emotions that we neglect, both within ourselves and in our interactions with others. When our emotions are ignored, we can feel a deep sense of loneliness and a diminished sense of purpose.
Initially, I thought that becoming a cardiologist would allow me to delve into the heart of these emotions. However, as I delved deeper into the human psyche, I realized that the mind and emotions are inextricably linked. This realization led me to pursue clinical psychology.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve strived for excellence. Yet, when I finally stepped into a therapy room, I encountered a reality far more complex than any textbook could prepare me for. The human experience is rich, nuanced, and often unpredictable. I found myself questioning my assumptions and the very foundations of my practice.
It was in these moments of doubt that I began to understand the true essence of therapy. It’s not merely about applying theoretical knowledge; it’s about connecting with another human being on a deep and meaningful level. Therapy is an art form, requiring empathy, intuition, and a profound understanding of the human condition.
I founded Authentic with the vision of creating a space where individuals could explore their authentic selves without judgment. Our approach is centered around building genuine connections and fostering a sense of safety and trust. By helping patients uncover their deepest thoughts and feelings, we empower them to live more fulfilling lives.
At Authentic, we believe that everyone has the potential for growth and change. Our therapists are committed to providing personalized care that addresses the unique needs of each individual. We believe that therapy is a journey, and we are honored to walk alongside our patients as they navigate the complexities of life.”
Sisyphus, condemned to evade death, was tasked with shouldering a boulder and rolling it to the mountain’s peak. Hoping to escape punishment and attain eternal freedom, he would repeatedly undertake this arduous task, only to watch the stone slip from his grasp as he neared the summit. Day after day, he would toil, bearing the weight of the heavy rock as he ascended the mountain, but each time, victory eluded him. In this narrative, the victor was gravity and the steep incline, or perhaps the very stone destined never to reach the peak. Despite his unwavering will, the mythological figure of Sisyphus could not overcome his fate, remaining eternally trapped in an endless cycle of seeking liberation. Life was about liberation, yet it might lie not in releasing the stone forever doomed to fall, but in something else entirely. Like Sisyphus, we all repeat numerous cycles in life, hoping for a different ending, but the conclusion of all our stories remains the same, as long as we remain unaware of which cycle we are trapped in, at whose behest, and out of fear of what.
